😇 Game-Changing Strategies to BEAT your Case
Top strategies to follow when newly under arrest 🚨👮♀️
Aloha, I’m Nick with A-1 Bail Bonds. In this issue of jail mail, we’ll discuss:
A-1’s top tips when recently under arrest.
Stephanie Nagaoka (pictured above) is back, sporting a new hairstyle, to share A-1's top tips for handling a pending case right at the point of arrest. Tip number one is to remember that arrests do not always lead to charges.
As a director of PBUS, whenever I speak with bail agents in other states, they often seem surprised when I tell them that in Hawaii, it's common for prospective clients to be arrested and then released without charges. So, tip number one is: don't incriminate yourself by confessing upon arrest.
Some people, feeling confident in their innocence, eagerly share their side of the story in detail, convinced they've done nothing wrong. This approach is common but self-defeating. Silence is usually the best strategy in almost every situation. Therefore, A-1 recommends a default position of declining to make any statement and requesting an attorney.
Tip number two is that you can consult an attorney even while in custody. Family members can call and hire an attorney for a special visit to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD). Family visits are also allowed for defendants in custody at HPD main. With access to family and legal counsel, the recently arrested don't have to feel isolated.
Lastly, A-1 advises periodically calling HPD main to check if charges have been filed or if your loved one has been released. You don't need to be an attorney or a bail agent to call HPD at 808-723-3000. I typically call three times a day on behalf of prospective clients and increase the frequency of calls towards the end of the 48-hour investigation period.
